WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) expressed deep sadness following the announcement of Pyramid Mountain Lumber, Inc. in Seeley Lake, Montana, planning to shut down after 75 years of operation.

"I am truly saddened to hear the news that Pyramid Mountain Lumber plans to close its facility in Seely Lake," said Rep. Rosendale. "I have visited there and witnessed the family environment and dedication to the community the Johnsons and their employees convey. It is a huge loss for our state and the Seeley Lake community and an indictment on the poor forest management practices that currently exist."

The closure of Pyramid Mountain Lumber marks the end of a significant era for the community and the state of Montana. The company's long-standing presence and contributions to the local economy and community will be deeply missed.

Rep. Rosendale's words reflect the impact of the closure not only on the business itself but also on the people and community it has been a part of for decades. The loss of jobs and the economic ripples caused by the shutdown will undoubtedly be felt by many in the region.

As discussions continue about the reasons behind the closure, including the reference to forest management practices, the focus remains on finding ways to support those affected and to address the challenges faced by industries like logging and lumber in an evolving economic landscape.

The closure of Pyramid Mountain Lumber serves as a reminder of the importance of sustainable practices and community support in maintaining the vitality of local businesses and the well-being of the areas they serve.
